:: Region 2 : Zakynthos Town , Akrotiri, Bohali and Gaitani Zakynthos Town is the capital of the island and is also the main commercial centre, with a wide range of shops, banks, doctors, and restaurants etc – all the facilities you would expect to find in a town. There are many museums, a library, a cinema and festivals take place here, such as the Carnival in February and a parade for the Patron Saint of the Island , St Dennis, on the 24 th of August. This would be a great location to live if you prefer to have amenities on your doorstep and if you like to be in the hub of city life. Akrotiri is a pretty suburb of Zante town and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. It became a favourite spot to the island's nobility many of whom constructed their mansions here. It is still as beautiful today as it was in the past and is a wonderful scenic location for anyone thinking of relocating to Zakynthos. Bohali is a lovely village to the north of Zante Town and it has spectacular panoramic views over the capital and across to mainland Greece . There are several good tavernas in Bohali. However, Bohali is a fairly small village, without many amenities so to go to the bank or the doctors would mean a trip into town. On the other hand, this would be the ideal location for those seeking a quiet area with splendid sea views.
