Kalamaki is in the south east of Zakynthos and is picturesque having a back drop of mountains, abundance of olive groves and splendid sandy beaches. It is still a traditional Greek village despite the fact it is becoming more popular with tourists. Many of the best tavernas are found here offering excellent Greek cuisine. Several mini markets are available; these are open all day everyday in the summer but may have sporadic opening hours in the winter. Zakynthos town which is nearby offers more choice of shops. There is a frequent bus service between Kalamaki and Zakynthos town and also a taxi rank in the summer. Lagana is the busiest and liveliest of all the tourist resorts on the island and as such has a fantastic range of tourist shops, bars, nightclubs, restaurants and tavernas. Lagana beach is lovely, a 5 km stretch of golden sand which gently shelves into the sea making it a safe beach for children. This is also where the Caretta Caretta turtles lay their eggs and boat trips leave from the beach to see these amazing turtles. The outskirts of Lagana provide the ideal location for residential properties as there are many olive groves, fruit orchards and the backdrop of the hills and mountains of the west coast of the island. For anyone thinking of buying or building a house and wanting a quiet neighbourhood but with easy accessibility to nightlife and a great beach- Lagana offers it all. Agios Sostis is a charming traditional Greek village. The village is named after a 16 th Century Church. This is a very flat area which contrasts nicely with the mountains in the distance. This village has a rural feel with only a handful of shops, and nearby Lagana providing a wider range of shops and nightlife choices. For those who would love to feel that they really were living the Greek experience this is the ideal location to build a dream home. Lake Keri is a picturesque place, with wonderful scenery and a good pebbly beach. There are a handful of tavernas and cafes here, but its main attraction is the tranquil atmosphere of this traditional Greek village and the splendid views. This would be an ideal location to build a house with spectacular views. Keri is a traditional village, near to Keri Lake , and the town is built on a hill which offers amazing panoramic views. This is a small town with only about 700 residents but a strong community spirit is evident. The houses here are very attractive mainly made of stone and only 20 km from Zante Town means that anyone living here can enjoy a tranquil lifestyle but with easy accessibility to all necessary amenities. Kiliomeno is a rural mountain village which has a very beautiful old church called Agios Nikolaos. Porto Roxa and Limnionas are fiords that offer excellent swimming opportunities but there are no tourist facilities here and the nearest village is Agios Leon , which has a handful of shops and schools. Kampi is famous due to the wonderful sunset that can be seen from here. There are several good tavernas offering traditional Greek cuisine. A great location for those seeking a home with stunning views and peaceful location.
