Tsilivi, Bouka, Alykanas, Alykes, and Katastari.
Tsilivi has grown recently to become a very popular tourist resort, with many family run bars, restaurants and tavernas. The beach here is excellent with gently shelving sand making it a safe beach for children, the water is exceptionally clean here and the beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award. There are many amenities in Tsilivi, such as supermarkets and a doctor's surgery. Tsilivi is still an attractive place despite the recent rise in tourism as it has many olive groves and vineyards providing a beautiful landscape. Many foreigners choose to stay in Tsilivi all year round, so some bars and restaurants are still open in the winter and you will also find other English people living nearby who are sure to help you feel right at home.
Alykanas and Alykes are tourist resorts and although they are small and village like they are very popular with families and couples, many of whom return year after year. The beach at Alykes is superb as is a spacious stretch of golden sand with shallow waters, perfect for children to be able to paddle and swim safely. Alykes and Alykanas are near Katastari which is the second largest town on Zakynthos (in population terms). In Katastari you will find a supermarket, pharmacy, post office, butchers, bakery, supermarket, schools, clothes shops, a florist, barber's and just a short distance from Katastari in a village called Koukisi is a new medical centre. This area is an excellent choice to build a house as the amenities are open all year round; it is near to lovely beaches and an easy drive to the mountains in the north, the shipwreck and the Blue Caves . Katastari has a bus stop with a frequent service to Zakynthos Town , that runs everyday all year round.
